Fish Baby

We are fortunate to live at a place where we have a pool essentially at our disposal during the summer months.  It has allowed Edmund to be even more comfortable in the water, unfortunately our swimming days are coming to an end (but its also good because that means fall is here).  Some friends gave us a pass to a water park and we thought we'd use the abnormally nice end of September day to check it out.

The Last Uncle

Edmund is lucky to have five uncles to love and spoil him.  As they were all excited to meet Edmund, Uncle Jeremy has been super excited and seems to be an avid reader of the blog (hey Jeremy!).  It has taken some time, but about a week ago Uncle Jeremy came to town and finally got to meet Edmund.

They were both pretty happy about getting to play together!

Jeremy also brought with him an awesome dump truck with blocks that Edmund thinks is super cool and likes to eat.  Thanks for the awesome truck and blocks!

They had an awesome time together and Edmund is excited for Uncle Jeremy to take him on the tea cups at Disney World!

Well, Edmund may not be too excited about that but mom is!

Grandmas Come To Town

The Grandmas have come to town...its kind of like singing "Santa Claus is coming to town"--but even better than Santa, because Santa doesn't give mom time to shower.

Anyways, we've learned from this trip that Edmund is a total flirt and ham for the camera.  Holy cow, he is just plain crazy for a camera and girls.  Here are some of the *priceless shots my mom has captured in her time here.

My Moment of Zen

I am back trying to contribute to bad mommy rehab.  I am a mommy guilt-a-holic.  Its true, I struggle daily with trying to be the best mom in the world, loving my husband, balancing the demands of being in a new highly demanding job, and caring for a home.  With all of that there is little time for else.  But on Saturday I had a pure moment of zen.  I went and got my haircut.  It wasn't even necessairly an amazing haircut or one of those awesome ones where the stylist massages your head while they wash your hair (though that would have been awesome).  But I might as well have been getting a massage it was that relaxing and wonderful.  I literally almost fell asleep in the chair.  Again, it wasn't even that good of a haircut with any perks, but just to sit, having a conversation with an adult that didn't revolve around finding a babysitter or random college questions was amazing.  Though I will not lie, it has made the craving for getting a massage pretty intense.  When I returned home it was back to the normal grinds and demands of life, but I had a zenful 45 minutes on Saturday that I cannot even begin to explain how wonderful they were.

The grandmas are coming though soon......a semi-restful state may come...

Traditions

I am uber lucky to be living in very close vicinity to two awesome friends, Megan & Rachel and their spouses and child.

Because of our nearness we are slowly starting up some fun traditions.  From continuing the tradition of watching Liar, Liar around October 11 we have added fun events like Apple picking, the Woods Family Christmas Cookie Decorating Extravaganza, and now we have added Peach picking (which happens to be at the same place Apple picking is)!

Here is Edmund digging his first peach!

I think other events that are in the works are a Pumpkin party and perhaps something St. Patricks or Easter Egg related.  Feel like you are missing out?  Well, you are, so you should come and visit.

Teething Bites

Definition of Teething:  one of the cruelest rights of passage.  Edmund's crib now looks like a raccoon has been trying to escape.  Teething has turned my wonderfully happy easy going baby has turned into a fussy sad mess at nighttime.  Praise the Lord for infant tylenol.

the side of the crib....and thats just one side
you can see the relief in his face....

Come on teeth!  I do not understand how you haven't poked through yet.  Hang in there little man, until they come in you can have all the puffs (aka baby crack) you want.

Funny Faces

Sometime my kid makes awesome faces.  Dane-Dane captured this jewel about a week ago.  I love it.
A prize goes to the person who can give the best caption.

Its Here!

College football is finally back upon us.  And because of my love for it and my dislike for Carolina, enjoy this little gem I found.

New Playground

With new forms of mobility come new playgrounds! Edmund LOVES rolling up and down the hallways and the boys LOVE playing with him. It is so cool that Edmund has 190 brothers.

Happy Day for Daddy

Back when Edmund was still unnamed and in the womb we were given a pair of Carhartt overalls for him by g&g Woods. Since that day Cory has been patiently waiting to strap those puppies onto Edmund and stare proudly as his son dawning his favorite brand.  Well, one oddly cool day last week that day came.

It made Edmund just as happy as it did Daddy.
They still are roomy for good movement to help the crawling baby and they look so dang cute!
